Parking in Taranto: where to leave your car in the city

Taranto city

Parking in Taranto: where to park in the centre, near the Old Town and the seafront. Blue-line spaces, attended car parks and practical tips.

History

Getting around Taranto by car is relatively easy, but finding a parking space in the centre at peak times or in high season can take patience. Here's how to find your way.

What to see

Blue and white lines. In the city centre, particularly the Borgo Umbertino, parking is mostly paid (blue lines), with hourly rates payable at meters or by app. Moving away from the centre, free spaces (white lines) are easier to find.

Attended car parks. The city has paid attended and multi-storey car parks, handy for leaving the car safely all day while visiting on foot.

Old Town. The island has extremely narrow alleys and is unsuited to tourist traffic: best to leave the car in the Borgo and cross the Swing Bridge on foot.

In summer. Demand rises sharply around the seafront and towards the beaches: better to arrive early or consider public transport.
