InTaranto.it was born from a simple conviction: Taranto deserves to be told better.

Why we exist

Taranto is a city with three thousand years of history: the only colony founded by Sparta, capital of Magna Graecia, keeper of treasures the world envies. It is embraced by two seas and surrounded by ravines, white villages, Primitivo vineyards and beaches that have nothing to envy of far more famous destinations.

And yet it remains a little-known destination. Those who arrive here for the first time often do so almost by chance — and nearly always leave surprised.

We created this portal to close that gap: to tell you what there really is to see, to eat and to experience, with accurate information and no frills.

How we work

Every page on the site is the result of careful research: we verify the information, write it in our own words and update it when needed.

• Verified content: history, traditions and facts are checked against reliable sources.
• No expiry dates: for events we describe the recurring appointments, pointing to official channels for exact dates. We prefer stable information to information that ages badly.
• Honest about limits: when information may change — opening hours, prices, availability — we say so and invite you to check.

• The territory: all the towns of the province, from the ravines to the Itria Valley, from the Primitivo Wine Route to the Ionian coast.
• Itineraries: ready-made routes for a day, a weekend or a specific theme.
• Experiences and packages: activities to enjoy across the territory, organised by our partners.
• Practical information: how to get here, where to stay, where to eat, when to come.

Our partners

For tourist packages and organised experiences we work with authorised local operators, who handle bookings and services. We tell the story, they organise: each to their own craft.
