Taranto has no passenger airport, but it is served by two well-connected Puglian hubs at a manageable distance: Bari and Brindisi, both with domestic and international flights.
What to see
Brindisi Salento Airport. The closest, at about 75-90 km. It offers connections with numerous Italian and European cities. From Brindisi you continue to Taranto by train (about an hour from Brindisi central station) or by bus services.
Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport. At about 100 km, it is Puglia's main hub, with the widest choice of flights. From here too you reach Taranto by train or bus, as well as with a rental car.
Onward travel. From the airports the options are the train (often with one change), the connecting buses run by several companies, car rental — recommended if you plan to explore the territory — or private transfers.
